Elan has taken the popular E range and enhanced these yachts for greater performance achieved by weight reduction in the hull and deck construction which results in an enhanced performance sailing yacht. With the absence of the interior finish the S1 is an ideal yacht for day sailing, one design racing and sailing schools.
Construction
The hull is built with sandwich construction using multi-axial Fibreglass in 3D VAIL technology. To improve the mechanical and chemical properties the hull is built using vinylester and Isophtalic polyester resin with the SVG gelcoat ensuring an optimum chemical resistance against osmosis. The moulded inner structure is glued and laminated into the hull. The deck is built with
multi-axial Fiberglass with reinforced laminate at mounting positions.
